Be at one with nature!
There are some very interesting excursions you can take in the area surrounding the hotel, such as to the Po Delta, the Euganean Hills or the Valle Averto Nature Reserve (WWF). The whole area provides various trekking and cycle touring routes, such as the splendid tour of the Lusenzo Lagoon. It's also great fun to discover Chioggia by canoe or boat, a delightful trip suitable for everyone.
There's no shortage of art and culture either!
Veneto is a favourite destination for art lovers: Padua, Vicenza and Verona are unmissable stop-offs due to the impressive number of works of art and historical buildings and monuments that can be admired in their historic centres. Walking through its streets offers the chance to breathe in the atmosphere of the old fishing villages, admire the traditional boats moored along the Canal Vena and experience the mysterious romance of the lagoon.
How to reach us
By car
If travelling by car, Sottomarina is well served by the Italian motorway network.
- From the north: take the A4 motorway and exit at Padova Zona Industriale or Rovigo Nord. Then follow the signs for Chioggia-Sottomarina.
- From the south: from the A13 motorway, take the Monselice exit and follow the signs for Chioggia-Sottomarina.
On arriving in Sottomarina, follow the signs for Hotel Colorado, which is located near the seafront. We have a private car park available for our guests.
By train
The nearest railway stations are:
- Chioggia (about 2 km from the hotel), connected by regional trains.
- Rovigo or Padua, for those arriving by long-distance train. From both stations you can continue by bus or taxi to Sottomarina.
Once you reach Viale Mediterraneo, the nearest bus stop, the hotel is just a few minutes' walk away, or a short taxi ride.
By plane
The closest airports are:
- Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) (about 60 km)
- Treviso Airport TSF (about 80 km)
From the airports, you can travel on to Sottomarina by taxi, rental car or public transport (bus or private transfer). The direct bus from Venice to Chioggia is a convenient and frequently run service.
